There are two versions of IELTS:

How is IELTS scored?
Your IELTS results are scored on a scale of 1 to 9, with 9 being the highest. Your overall band score is calculated by averaging your scores from each of the four components: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
What is the format of IELTS?
IELTS is a four-hour test that consists of four components: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking.
- Listening: The Listening test lasts for 40 minutes and consists of 4 sections with a total of 40 questions. You will listen to a variety of recordings, such as lectures, conversations and news broadcasts, and answer questions about what you have heard.
- Reading: The Reading test lasts for 60 minutes and consists of 3 sections with a total of 75 questions. You will read a variety of texts, such as articles, essays and letters, and answer questions about what you have read.
- Writing: The Writing test lasts for 60 minutes and consists of 2 tasks. In Task 1, you will write a summary of a graph, table or chart. In Task 2, you will write an essay on a given topic.
- Speaking: The Speaking test lasts for 15 minutes and consists of 3 parts. In Part 1, you will be asked a few questions about yourself. In Part 2, you will be given a task to talk about for 2 minutes. In Part 3, you will be asked questions about the topic you talked about in Part 2.
How to prepare for IELTS?
The best way to prepare for IELTS is to take a practice test. This will give you an idea of what the test is like and what areas you need to improve on. There are many practice tests available online and in book form.
You can also improve your English by reading, writing and speaking as much as possible. Try to find opportunities to use English in your everyday life, such as watching English-language movies and TV shows, listening to English music, and reading English books and articles.
If you are struggling with a particular area of English, such as grammar or vocabulary, you can take a course or find a tutor to help you. There are many resources available to help you prepare for IELTS.
