The topics in IELTS Speaking Exam are always about something familiar to you, such as “What you do”, “How are you? etc.
You should not speak too quickly or too slowly. It is also important to have good intonation and stress. You will not get a high score if you are too hesitant and have too many pauses when you speak, although a few pauses to collect your thoughts are fine.
Try not to speak too quickly, either. Rapid speech often indicates a lack of cohesion in what you are saying and severely affects the rhythm and flow of your speech.
Below is the list of few IELTS Speaking Questions by Mark Allen in Friends category:
Question – What kind of people do you like to have as friends?
Answer – People that enjoy being around me and appreciate doing things with me. People who I can trust and have fun with.
Question – Do you like to spend time with friends?
Answer – Yes, I love to spend time with friends. It’s one of my favorite things to do, because we have fun together and we can learn to understand each other’s personalities.
Note: I like to be with my friends. But sometimes I need to spend time by myself. I think it really depends – if we need to do some thinking, we really SHOULD spend some time by ourselves, even if we enjoy the company of our friends a lot.
Honestly, I like spending time alone. I am the independent kind.
Question – Do you have a best friend?
Answer – Not really, I have many good friends or close friends, but no best friends. My nature is to be a little off to myself, so I really don’t have a best friend.
Note: I have two best friends, Teresa and Katie, and I have known them for as long as I can remember. I can’t remember the first time we met, but we are great friends and enjoy sleepovers and talks, that sort of thing.
Yes, my mother is my best friend. We became close after she was diagnosed with breast cancer 7 years ago. I have other friends but I am not as close to them. I can tell my mum anything.
Yes, I do have a best friend that’s just like a sister to me. I’d do anything for her. We live over an hour apart so it’s tough seeing each other, but we do our best.
My best friend and I first met way back in preschool. I remember the first time we met was at my house. His mom, his older brother, and he came over and I gave him one of my toy dinosaurs. To this day he still has that dinosaur and we are still the best of friends. Just to let you know we are both 20 and that just shows how long we’ve been friends.
Question – What do you and your friends do together?
Answer – Often we sit around and chat, or we play games, or watch movies together. Sometimes we just like to chill and do nothing. I think that is important for friends.
Question – Is friendship important to you?
Answer – Friends are very important to me, because if something’s going badly for me or if I have a problem then I have someone I can tell my feelings to. Also, then I’m not lonely or bored.
Note: I used to place a lot of importance on my friendships but have been hurt, let down and disappointed so many times by people who I thought were friends that now I do not think it is the be all and end all of life. I have a few friends who I have known all my life and have built up trust with them, they are important to me and I maintain those relationships but I don’t really worry about making new friends.
I think it’s important to have friends because they make life and just about everything else so much less lonely.
