GET UP
1. To get up is to wake up and get out of bed.
Examples of use:
- It's 8 o'clock: time to get up.
- I want to get up early tomorrow.
- We had a day off work yesterday so we got up very late.
- He's been getting up at 5am every day for years.
- She gets up early and goes for a run every morning.
- I get up at 7.30 every day.
2. To get up is also to stand up.
Examples of use:
- Get up off the floor. Your clothes will get dirty.
- He fell over when he was playing football, but quickly got up again.
